SHORT DESCRIPTION:
CHAOS MANDALA manifests itself as the processing area of an interconnected ecosystem condensing power structures, centralized narratives, and narratives undermined by non-linear time systems. Within such a space, various cultural and belief systems are corporealized, with the span of transitions compressed into singularities.
The exhibition reflects a cultural shift in Thailand. The politics of sound and latent symbology present in the cultural codes we encounter in daily life. Incorporating the architectural elements of the Thai Folk Opera stage with the elements of Thai car modification culture motifs and Buddhist/Hindu cosmological stories as well as Thai political memes. The work deconstructs and restructures cultural/architectural narrative fragments into a constructed fictional scenographic situation to interrogate the ways in which cultural narrative constructs, circulates, and replicates across media, culture, and technology. The exhibition comprises sound installation, sculpture, textile work, and painting Including sound performance and panel discussion.
